The Center was invited to “S&T Touch-2017 Shanghai Science & Technology Festival”

On the afternoon of May 20, 2017, Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center was invited to “S&T Touch-2017 Shanghai Science & Technology Festival & Life Style Exhibition of Science and Technology in Minhang District”. The activity was held at Red Star Macalline in Pujiang Town. Fu Weiyan, teacher of the center, gave a lecture Little Food Safety Expert for children and their parents. Peng Yongzheng, teacher of Pujiang Green Valley Base, Xu Guobin and Xing Yue, menbers of Zhigeng Nongyuan Science & Technology Association, also participated in the activity.
         
         

The lecture given by Teacher Fu during the activity covered four major aspects: food safety and life, hand washing, food safety and nutrition, tips for food safety. Teacher Fu gave a vivid and interesting lecture, while the children’s learning enthusiasm ran high and answered questions actively. From the lecture, the children learned the “the correct seven steps of hand washing”; they also learned the children’s song about food safety with the teacher. In addition, the teachers prepared succulent plants cultivated in the base as prize for children. 
         
         

2017 Shanghai Science & Technology Festival will be held from May 20 to May 27. With “Mass innovation-to build a scientific and technological innovation center with global influence” as the theme, the activities including Science Red Carpet Show, Night of Science, International Salon of Science and Technology Festival, Science Popularization Education Base Activity Benefiting the People, Week of S&T Film, “Tour with Science Tutor” as well as various activities such as International Science & Technology Art Exhibition and Performance will be launched successively. “Tech Touch-2017 Shanghai Science & Technology Festival & Exhibition of Life Style with Science and Technology in Minhang District” is an important integral part of 2017 Shanghai Science & Technology Festival.
Since the establishment of Zhigeng Nongyuan Science & Technology Association in Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center, this event has been the 15th science popularization education activity that the center was invited to hold for children. Children’s growth in good health is the hope for the future. Our center will pay close attention to food safety for children, further unite communities and schools to carry out similar activities and popularize food safety knowledge in a more all-round way.
