‘SJTU-Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center’ (Abbreviated as ‘the Center’) is a research institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The Center was named after Dr. Bor Shiun Luh, who was an alumni of SJTU in the year of 1938, and contributed 3 million US dollars to the SJTU to establish the Center on April 25, 2005.


The Center was located at the Collage of Agriculture and Biology, focusing on food safety related research and technical service. The main research area includes the development of advanced techniques for food safety testing, novel food processing technology, food nutrition and etc. In addition, the center provides food safety training, third party testing of food safety and nutrition, food safety technology and information service. The center is now a famous comprehensive academic institution at home and abroad, and it provides great technical support for the protection of China's food safety.
