Vice president for food safety of Wal-Mart came to the Center

On May 20, 2016, the Representatives of Wal-Mart, invited by the Center, came to School of Agriculture and Biology of SJTU for an Exchange Meeting. People who attended the meeting included: Frank Yiannas, Vice president for food safety of Walmart, William Watts, Director of International Corporate Affairs of Walmart, Dr. Shengquan Che, Deputy Dean of the School, Dr. Jin Yue, Deputy Director of the Center, Associate Prof. Chunlei Shi, as well as other faculties from the School.

First, Frank gave an excellent presentation on “Food Safety Culture” to the students and teachers from the School. Then followed by the exchange meeting. The two sides got a better understanding to each other and have identified an initial collaborative interest in non-profit food safety training, scholarship for outstanding students and internship for graduate students.
