Xianming Shi

 

Dr. Shi is a professor in Food Science and Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Director of MOST-USDA Joint Research Center for Food Safety, Vice president of Chinese Association for Food Protection (CAFP), Global Harmonization Initiative (GHI) Ambassador for China, Fellow of National Committee for Teaching Supervision in Food Science and Technology, Fellow of Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology, Chairman of the organizing committee for the 1st and 2nd Sino-US Symposium on Food Safety Control from Farm to Home and Workshop on Rapid Methods and Automation in Food Microbiology, Chairman of the organizing committee for the Third and the Sixth International Forum on Food Safety.


He has published 172 papers in recent years in international and national journals and 5 books in Chinese as an editor-in-chief. Thirteen patents have been approved. He has won the following awards: “Certified Food Scientist” awarded by The International Food Science Certification Commission, 2013; be awarded an honor title of “The Ten best tutor” at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 2010; attended working on the draft of international Standard of Salmonella, 2009; a prize for the leading scientists of Shanghai municipality, October 2007; Quarter Century Fellow of the international workshop on rapid methods and automation in Microbiology, 2003. As a result of his contributions to science, he has been invited many times to give oral (keynote) presentations or to chair sessions at international and national conferences.
