The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) pressed charges after it took samples of meat, in an operation dating back to 2013.
Fines ranging from $350 to $4,500 were handed down to those found guilty, dependant on the scope and severity of the offence.
The MPI also successfully prosecuted three company directors for their part in the crime.
Foods containing sulphites/sulphur dioxide – which are food additives used as preservatives in some foods – can cause serious reactions to individuals that are sensitive to these ingredients, which are banned from use in raw meat.
