Dr. Yaowen Huang, professor of the University of Georgia, was recently appointed as the Guest Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Dr. Yaowen Huang got his PhD from the Department of Food Science, University of Georgia, Athens, GA in 1983. He then accepted a position as professor at the same university. Dr. Huang has made outstanding achievements in the research area of food safety and microbiology, application of nanotechnology on rapid pathogens detection, aquatic food technology, Asian functional foods and new product/process development. He was appointed as the Fellow of Institute of Food Technologists in 2009.
Dr. Yaowen Huang is the Advisory Committee Member of the SJTU Bor S. Luh Food Safety Center. He has contributed significantly to the development of the Center in the area of international academic exchange, food safety training course, and international research collaboration, etc.
