On March 25th, the 2010 Food Safety Management Symposium was held in Shanghai, which was hosted by Southern Weekly. This is the first food safety conference organized by a media institution. Shanghai Jiao Tong University Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center was the academic sponsor.
The vice deans of the Center, Professor Yitong Lu and Professor Dabing Zhang were invited to make a speech on the symposium. Professor Zhang shared the achievements his research team had made in the fields of rapid detection of pesticides residues, insecticides residues, and genetically modified organism in food. Most of these research achievements had been put into application, which deeply impressed the audience. Professor Lu made a speech on Environmental Toxic Chemical & Food Safety, analyzing in depth the food safety incidents recently happened which were caused by harmful chemicals.
The associate professors, Aibo Wu and Yi Sheng also attended the symposium.
